Open Yard

Two days inside a working group of companies. Walk the office, the yard and the trucks. Hear the failures from the people who lived them. Then bring your own P&L.

September 23 to 24, 2027. Moncton, New Brunswick. 100 seats.

Two days.
In this order.

For owners who run one company and are looking hard at a second. Thursday you see how ours fit together. Friday you work on yours.

Thursday, September 23

Inside the group.

  1. Walk the property management office where it started.
  2. Walk the services company’s yard and trucks.
  3. See the software we built to run the group, live.
  4. A panel with my partner and our division leads.
  5. The Failures Room: the concrete shutdown and the landscaping sale, told by the people who lived them.

Thursday evening

An Atlantic lobster dinner with me and the group’s leaders, for Operator tickets.

Friday, September 24

Red Pen.

  1. Bring your P&L. Numbers stay in the room.
  2. Circle one trade.
  3. Run the five filters on that trade and the readiness test on your first company, with help.
  4. Leave with a readiness verdict and a 90-day plan.

On site in Moncton.

Thursday is the real thing: the property management office where it started, then the services company’s yard. Friday we’re all in one room in town, working.

The room and the clock times aren’t final, so I haven’t printed any. The waitlist gets both with the ticket details.

Four ways to be there.

  • Seat

Both days: inside the group, then your own P&L.

  • Operator

Both days, plus Thursday’s lobster dinner with me and the group’s leaders. On Friday you sit at the front, at a table of six run by one of those leaders.

48 tickets: eight tables of six, each run by a leader.

  • Team of 3

Three seats: you and two of your leaders.

  • Recording and workbook

Can’t make it to Moncton? The recordings and the workbook.

Keystone members get an Operator ticket included and work at their own group’s table.

It takes a minute. Which way you’d come and your trade help me plan the room.

I use what you send only to reply, or to send what you asked for.

How I handle your information

Before you decide.

Who should come?
Owners who already run one company and are looking hard at a second. If you pay other trades every month and wonder which of those bills you could own, these are your two days.
Who shouldn’t?
If you haven’t started your first company yet, it’s too early. Start with The Line Item. And if you want a motivational weekend, this isn’t one. Friday is work, on your own numbers.
What do I bring?
Last year’s P&L, on paper or on a laptop. It stays yours: numbers stay in the room. And shoes you can walk a yard in.
Where do I stay?
In Moncton. It has its own airport (YQM), and the hotels downtown are a short drive from it. Don’t book anything until tickets are on sale and the times are final.
What if it sells out?
It’s 100 seats. The waitlist gets first access to tickets, so being on it is the way in. If the seats go, the recording and workbook is still a way to be there.
Is it recorded?
Yes. The recordings and the workbook are the fourth way to be there. Your numbers aren’t part of it. What you bring on Friday stays in the room.
