This is my personal website. I only collect what you type into my two forms: the contact form and the book list. I use it to reply to you, or to send the book emails you asked for. I never sell it.

1. Who is responsible

This is my personal website. I’m Tony LeBlanc, and I run it from New Brunswick, Canada. I’m responsible for the personal information collected here, and privacy questions come to me.

2. What I collect

I only collect what you type into the two forms on this site.

The contact form

Your first name and email address (required).
Your last name and business type, if you add them.
How long you’ve been operating and how you found me, if you add them.
What you want help with, picked from a short list.
Your message.

The book list

Your email address.
Your yes to the consent box, the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, and the page you signed up on. That’s my record of your consent.

Both forms also have a hidden field that only spam bots fill in. People never see it.

What the site collects on its own

This site uses no cookies and no analytics, and it loads no third-party scripts. The fonts are served from this site. When you send a form, it goes to this site’s host (see section 4).

My hosting provider, Netlify, may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.

3. How I use it

Contact form: to read your message, reply, and work out whether I can help.
Book list: to send you emails about my books.

Sending a message doesn’t put you on the book list. You join the list only by ticking the box under the sign-up form.

I never sell or rent your information. I won’t use it for something new without asking you first.

5. Where it’s stored

Netlify (my hosting provider, which also handles form entries) and my email provider may store or process your information outside Canada, including in the United States.

If any of it is stored or processed outside Canada, it’s subject to the laws of that country. Courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it.

6. How long I keep it

Contact messages: up to two years after our last exchange, then I delete them.
Book list: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your address.

If you’ve asked to see your information, I keep it until your request is fully dealt with.

7. How I protect it

I protect what you send with safeguards that suit the kind of information it is, and only people who need it to reply to you can see it. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps for what I hold.

8. Your choices

Unsubscribe

Every book email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email me. I’ll take you off the list within 10 business days.

See or correct your information

Ask me in writing for a copy of what I hold about you, or to correct it. I’ll reply within 30 days. If I need more time, I’ll tell you why and when you can expect an answer.

Delete it

Ask me to delete your information and I will, unless the law requires me to keep it.

9. If you have a concern

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, tell me first and I’ll try to fix it. If I can’t, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Changes to this page

If I change how I handle your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top. For a bigger change, like using your information for something new, I’ll ask you first.
